Traffic Management in Yarra River - Temporary Changes
As part of the Channel Deepening Project, protection
services works will occur across the Yarra River. During this time
temporary changes to traffic management in Yarra River will be
applied commencing on 28 July 2008 until around the end of August 2009.
Works will be carried out 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Short disruptions may result for recreational vessels
wishing to transit the Yarra at certain times, such as when a
commercial ship is transiting the area.
Caution and traffic signals (see examples provided
below) will indicate when recreational vessels can transit and what
channels to use.

Commercial ships (vessels with a beam
greater than 11 metres) are subject to different traffic management
